Syracuse Woman Wins $36,000 Playing Couch Cushion Cash

Sarah CareySarah Carey of Syracuse won $36,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Couch Cushion Cash from the Nebraska Lottery.

Carey purchased her winning ticket at B&B Pump & Go, 535 Park Street in Syracuse. Scratching the ticket, she revealed twelve winning “WALLET” symbols with corresponding prizes of $1,000 for a total of $12,000.

Because Carey’s ticket contained the “DUST BUNNY” symbol in the UNDER COUCH TRIPLER box, her $12,000 prize was multiplied three times to $36,000.

While claiming her prize on February 9 drawing, Carey said she was surprised to win the top prize. “I’m still saying, 'Oh my gosh!’ It’s nice,” said Carey. She also told Nebraska Lottery officials that this is the second time she has won playing Couch Cushion Cash. “I’m lucky – the first day tickets went on sale, I bought one and won $500,” said Carey. She has no specific plans for her winnings.
