Lyons Woman Wins $50,000 Playing X-Word Doubler

Carol CarperCarol Carper of Lyons won $50,000 playing the $5 Scratch game X-Word Doubler from the Nebraska Lottery.

Carper purchased her winning X-Word Doubler ticket at Save More Market, 270 Main Street in Lyons. Scratching the ticket, she revealed 10 complete words for a corresponding prize of $50,000.

There are three $50,000 top prizes available in X-Word Doubler. Carper is the first person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming her prize on November 19, Carper told Nebraska Lottery officials that she ended up buying her winning ticket because her favorite Scratch game was no longer for sale. “I went to the store to buy UNO tickets, but that game closed,” said Carper. “So I bought an X-Word Doubler ticket, a Bonus Crossword ticket, and a Dashing Through the Dough ticket. I won $5 on Dashing, and $50,000 on X-Word.” She plans to buy new furniture and take a trip using her winnings.

X-Word Doubler is a $5 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $1.3 million in cash prizes from $5 to $50,000. The odds of winning the top prize in X-Word Doubler are 1 in 140,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.44.
