Lincoln Man Wins $35,000 Playing UNO

Josh Smith of Lincoln won $35,000 playing the $3 Scratch game UNO from the Nebraska Lottery.

Smith purchased his winning ticket at Bucky’s Express, 7203 Harrison Street in La Vista. Scratching the ticket, he revealed matching cards forming a complete row with a corresponding prize of $35,000.

There were three $35,000 top prizes available in UNO. Smith was the third person to win a top prize in the game.

While claiming his prize on November 10, Smith told Nebraska Lottery officials that he purchased his ticket on the Saturday prior. “It was a long couple of days to wait to claim the prize,” said Smith. “I was so shocked I think I checked the ticket 18 times.” He plans to purchase a new camper using his winnings.

Based on the popular card game, the $3 UNO Scratch game offered players the chance to win $936,100 in cash prizes from $3 to $35,000. The odds of winning the $35,000 top prize were 1 in 160,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize were 1 in 3.69.
