Beatrice Man Wins $45,000 Playing 7X the Money

August 7, 2014 – Gailen McMullen of Beatrice won $45,000 playing the $5 Scratch game 7X the Money from the Nebraska Lottery.

McMullen purchased his winning 7X the Money ticket at Beatrice Heartland Foods, 1300 Court Street in Beatrice. Scratching the ticket, he revealed matching numbers with a corresponding prize of $45,000.

There are three $45,000 top prizes available in 7X the Money. McMullen is the first person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming his prize on June 27, McMullen told Nebraska Lottery officials that he used a coupon offer to purchase his winning 7X the Money ticket. He said he was “shocked” to win the $45,000 prize. “I just couldn’t believe I could win something like that,” said McMullen. He plans to pay bills and go on vacation using his winnings.

7X the Money is a $5 Scratch game that offers players the chance to win $1.2 million in cash prizes from $5 to $45,000. The odds of winning $45,000 playing 7X the Money are 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.47.
