Lyons Woman Wins $94,000 Playing Nebraska Pick 5 and Peppermint Payout

November 8, 2012 – Sally Jasa of Lyons recently won $94,000 playing Nebraska Pick 5 and the $5 Scratch game Peppermint Payout from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 5,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Tuesday, October 23rd drawings. Among them was Jasa, who received her winning Nebraska Pick 5 ticket at Save More Market, 270 Main Street in Lyons. She received the quick pick ticket as a prize from a Peppermint Payout Scratch ticket she had purchased earlier. Jasa’s free Nebraska Pick 5 ticket contained all five of the winning numbers (3, 22, 25, 31, 36) from the October 23 drawing for the $94,000 jackpot.

Two hundred and sixty-two Nebraska Lottery players have won the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot to date.

Jasa, a previous Nebraska Lottery winner who won a $40,000 Scratch prize in January 2010, told Nebraska Lottery officials that she was “surprised” to win the $94,000 Pick 5 jackpot. “I like to buy the new Scratch tickets when they come out, so I bought a Peppermint Payout ticket and won a free Pick 5,” said Jasa. “The next morning, I saw the winning numbers on the TV and I couldn’t believe it.” She plans to pay bills using her winnings.

Peppermint Payout is a new $5 Scratch game with a holiday theme. The ticket features a bonus area where players can win 1, 2, or 5 Nebraska Pick 5 quick pick plays in addition to cash prizes. The odds of winning a free Nebraska Pick 5 play in the game are 1 in 7.97.

Nebraska Pick 5 is Nebraska's unique Lottery game: all the proceeds from Nebraska Pick 5 stay in Nebraska, and all the winning tickets are sold in Nebraska at Nebraska Lottery Lotto game retailers.
