Grand Island Woman Wins $1,000 Playing Treasure Hunter

January 15, 2010 – Ruth Ewoldt of Grand Island won $1,000 playing the $3 Scratch game Treasure Hunter from the Nebraska Lottery.

Ewoldt purchased her winning Treasure Hunter ticket at Snac Shac, 715 South Locust Street in Grand Island. Scratching the ticket, she revealed one “Shovel” symbol with a corresponding prize of $1,000.

There are three $1,000 prizes available in Treasure Hunter. Ewoldt is the first person to claim a $1,000 prize to date.

Treasure Hunter is a $3 Scratch game that offers players the chance to win $979,200 in cash prizes from $3 to $35,000. The odds of winning $1,000 playing Treasure Hunter are 1 in 160,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.51.
