One Lucky Lady’s Lucky Numbers
On Monday, April 10, the numbers drawn for Nebraska Pick 3 were 2, 2, and 2. Apparently, a lot of people like to play those numbers because 50 winning tickets were purchased for that drawing. That is a pretty big deal in our office as we rarely see that many winners claim the top prize from a game. We were lucky enough to have one of the winners come into our office and claim their $3,000 from that drawing.
When we asked for Racquel Galloway’s reasoning for picking 2, 2, and 2 in the drawing, we expected something along the lines of her just thinking those numbers were an interesting combination or she randomly chose them. Her response was not what we were expecting at all.
Racquel is originally from Chicago. Several years ago she was sleeping when she was promptly woken at 2:22 a.m., she thought nothing of it and went back to bed. The following night she was once again awake at 2:22 a.m. She thought it a mere coincidence and went back to sleep. The following morning she grabbed something quick for breakfast and her total was $2.22. She felt the sense that the numbers were a sign and she proceeded to play Illinois’s Pick 3. Miraculously, she won $5,000.
Last year, Racquel moved to Lincoln for a change of scenery. She has enjoyed the peace of living in Nebraska. Before the April 10 drawing, she experienced a bit of déjà vu. Her son’s classroom number at school is 222. Naturally, that’s a fun coincidence, considering those were her winning numbers a few years ago.
Under her desk at work, Racquel has a box with assorted items in it. While working she knocked the box over and noticed that there was a number on the box she had never noticed before. At this point in the story, you can probably guess that the number was 222.
She purchased a Pick 3 because she was feeling lucky and chose her past-proven numbers. She purchased five plays and left our office with an extra $3,000.
We hear a lot of stories when people come in to claim their winnings but nothing quite like this.

May you continue to use that number in the near future.
