Schuyler Woman Wins $3,000 Playing Lady Luck

Joselyn MelendresJoselyn Melendres of Schuyler won $3,000 playing the $1 Scratch game Lady Luck from the Nebraska Lottery.

Melendres purchased her winning Lady Luck ticket at Casey’s General Store, 821 South Broad Street in Fremont. Scratching the ticket, she revealed three “Q” symbols with a corresponding prize of $3,000.

There are three $3,000 top prizes available in Lady Lucky. Melendres is the second person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming her prize on December 11, Melendres told Nebraska Lottery officials that she received her winning ticket after redeeming a free ticket prize from another ticket. “I won a free ticket playing Quick 7s, and when I cashed it in I decided to get a Lady Luck ticket,” said Melendres. “I was walking back to my car when I scratched it off. Then I ran back in to have them check it. It was a shock.” She plans to pay bills using her winnings.

Lady Luck is a $1 Scratch game that offers players the chance to win $432,270 in cash prizes from $1 to $3,000. The odds of winning the top prize in Lady Luck are 1 in 240,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.99.
