Fairbury Man Wins $150,000 Playing Ca$hword Extravaganza

Tim PolsonTim Polson of Fairbury won $150,000 playing the $15 Scratch game Ca$hword Extravaganza from the Nebraska Lottery.

Polson purchased his winning ticket at Casey’s General Store, 622 E Street in Fairbury. Scratching the ticket, he revealed 11 complete words for a corresponding prize of $150,000.

There are three $150,000 top prizes available in Ca$hword Extravaganza. Polson is the second person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming his prize on December 1, Polson told Nebraska Lottery officials he “almost started to hyperventilate” after he scratched off the ticket and realized he had won $150,000. He plans to pay bills using his winnings.

Ca$hword Extravaganza is a $15 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers player the chance to win $3 million in cash prizes from $15 to $150,000. The odds of winning $150,000 playing Ca$hword Extravaganza are 1 in 100,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 2.63.
