Omaha Man Wins Second 2by2 Top Prize

Warren GibbsFor the second time in 18 months, Warren Gibbs of Omaha has won $22,000 playing 2by2 from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 6,700 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Thursday, September 25 drawings. Gibbs purchased his winning 2by2 ticket at Tobacco & Phones 4 Less, 5444 Center Street in Omaha. The three-play ticket contained one play with the winning red ball numbers (12, 17) and winning white ball numbers (8, 22) from the September 25 drawing for a corresponding prize of $22,000.

This is the second time that Gibbs has won a top prize -- he won $22,000 playing 2by2 in May 2013.

While claiming his prize on September 30, Gibbs told Nebraska Lottery officials that he learned he had won after checking the Nebraska Lottery website, nelottery.com. “It was early in the morning when I checked the numbers,” said Gibbs. “Then I woke up my wife and said, ‘I won the 2by2 again.’ She didn’t believe me.” Gibbs said he was surprised to win, “because you never think you’ll hit it twice.” He plans to pay bills and complete some home improvements using his winnings.

Three hundred and thirty-one Nebraska Lottery players have won the 2by2 top prize to date.

2by2 is run by the Multi-State Lottery Association and was introduced in June 2002. Players in Kansas, Nebraska and North Dakota have the opportunity to win up to $22,000 Monday through Sunday by playing 2by2. The odds of winning the $22,000 2by2 top prize are 1 in 105,625.
