Kearney Woman Wins $40,000 Playing Frogger

February 14, 2014 – Tammy Harmon of Kearney won $40,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Frogger from the Nebraska Lottery.

Harmon purchased her winning Frogger ticket at Pump & Pantry, 1616 South 2^nd Street in Kearney. Scratching the ticket, she revealed one complete path with a corresponding prize of $40,000.

There are three $40,000 top prizes available in Frogger. Harmon is the first person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming her prize on February 6, Harmon told Nebraska Lottery officials that this was the first time she had purchased a Frogger ticket. “Everyone keeps talking about Frogger, so I decided to buy a ticket,” said Harmon. “I couldn’t believe it when I scratched off the ticket and saw $40,000.” She plans to pay bills using her winnings.

Based on the popular video game, the $5 Frogger Scratch game gives players the chance to win $1.2 million in cash prizes from $5 to $40,000. The odds of winning the $40,000 top prize in Frogger are 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.49.
