Johnson Man Wins $10,000 Playing Holiday Gifts

February 5, 2014 – Harold Anderson of Johnson won $10,000 playing the $2 Scratch game Holiday Gifts.

Anderson purchased his winning Holiday Gifts ticket at Tag’s One Stop, 2507 South 11^th Street in Nebraska City. Scratching the ticket, he revealed matching numbers with a corresponding prize of $10,000.

There are three $10,000 top prizes available in Holiday Gifts. Anderson is the second person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming his prize on January 24, Anderson told Nebraska Lottery officials that he had a specific reason for purchasing Holiday Gifts tickets. “I saw on the Prizes Remaining sheet that there were two top prizes left and not many tickets left, so I decided to pick some up,” said Anderson. He said it was “exciting” to win the top prize, and plans to buy a new car using his winnings.

Holiday Gifts is a $2 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $466,950 in cash prizes from $2 to $10,000. The odds of winning $10,000 playing Holiday Gifts are 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.35.
