Blue Springs Man Wins $15,000 Playing Lineword

October 16, 2013 – Brandon Calkins of Blue Springs won $15,000 playing the $2 Scratch game Lineword from the Nebraska Lottery.

Calkins purchased his winning Lineword ticket at Wymore Express, 321 South 14^th Street in Wymore. Scratching the ticket, he revealed one complete word with a corresponding prize of $15,000.

There are three $15,000 top prizes available in Lineword. Calkins is the first person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming his prize on September 25, Calkins told Nebraska Lottery officials that he was “shocked” to win the top prize. “It really hasn’t sunk in yet,” said Calkins. He plans to pay for some home improvements using his winnings.

Lineword is a $3 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $468,006 in cash prizes from $2 to $15,000. The odds of winning the $15,000 top prize in Lineword are 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.98.
