Thomas Reiners August 14, 2013 – Thomas Reiners of Omaha recently won $1 million playing Nebraska Powerball.

While working in central Nebraska, Reiners stopped at the Pump & Pantry, 609 Willard Avenue in Genoa and purchased a Powerball ticket for the August 7 drawing. The five-play quick pick ticket contained one play with all five of the winning white ball numbers (5, 25, 30, 58, 59) for a $1 million prize.

Seven Nebraska Lottery players have won the $1 million prize in Powerball since the game was modified on January 15, 2012.

While claiming his prize on August 13, Reiners told Nebraska Lottery officials that he learned he had won after checking the winning numbers at nelottery.com. “I was pretty excited when I saw those numbers come up,” said Reiners. “It made me very happy.” He plans to save for retirement using his winnings.

The odds of winning $1 million playing Powerball are 1 in 5,153,633, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 31.8.
