Papillion Man Wins $100,000 Playing $100,000 Crossword Doubler

Thomas Carlson, Jr July 18, 2013 – Thomas Carlson Jr. of Papillion won $100,000 playing the $10 Scratch game $100,000 Crossword Doubler from the Nebraska Lottery.

Carlson purchased his winning $100,000 Crossword Doubler ticket at Casey’s General Store, 1202 South 13th Street in Omaha. Scratching the ticket, he revealed 11 complete words for a corresponding prize of $100,000.

There were three $100,000 top prizes available in $100,000 Crossword Doubler. Carlson was the third person to claim a top prize in this edition of the game.

While claiming his prize on June 17, Carlson told Nebraska Lottery officials that he “couldn’t believe it” when he scratched off the ticket. “I read and re-read it over and over, because I thought I only had 10 words instead of 11,” said Carlson. He plans to pay bills and purchase a new vehicle using his winnings.

$100,000 Crossword Doubler was a $10 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offered players the chance to win $2.1 million in cash prizes from $10 to $100,000. The odds of winning the $100,000 top prize in $100,000 Crossword Doubler were 1 in 100,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize were 1 in 2.89.
