Lexington Man Wins $50,000 Playing Lucky Rewards

June 5, 2013 – Alfonso Almanza of Lexington won $50,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Lucky Rewards from the Nebraska Lottery.

Almanza purchased his winning Lucky Rewards ticket at Casey’s General Store, 609 Plum Creek Parkway in Lexington. Scratching the ticket, he revealed three matching “BAR” symbols with a corresponding prize of $50,000.

There are three $50,000 top prizes available in Lucky Rewards. Almanza is the second person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming his prize on May 10, Almanza told Nebraska Lottery officials that he has a specific routine when scratching his Lucky Rewards tickets. “I scratch the first two symbols, and if they match, then I scratch off the third one,” said Almanza. “I couldn’t believe it when I saw that third ‘BAR.’” He plans to pay bills using his winnings.

Lucky Rewards is a $5 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $1.2 million in cash prizes from $5 to $50,000. The odds of winning the top prize in Lucky Rewards are 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.66.
