Omaha Woman Wins $40,000 Playing Powerball Power Play®

June 4, 2013 – Cheryl Kroupa of Omaha recently won $40,000 playing Nebraska Powerball with Power Play.

Kroupa purchased her winning Powerball ticket at No Frills Supermarket, 3026 South 24^th Street in Omaha. The quick pick ticket contained one play with four of the five winning white ball numbers (7, 12, 26, 36, 40) and the Powerball number (17) for $10,000.

Because Kroupa added the $1 Power Play option to her purchase, her prize was increased from $10,000 to $40,000. She plans to make some home improvements using her winnings.

The odds of winning $10,000 playing Powerball are 1 in 648,976. Adding the $1 Power Play option, which does not affect the odds of winning, gives players the chance to play for enhanced prizes from $12 to $2 million. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 31.8.
