Wahoo Man Wins $100,000 Playing Pure Gold

Luke Foster May 15, 2013 – Luke Foster of Wahoo won $100,000 playing the $10 Scratch game Pure Gold from the Nebraska Lottery.

Foster purchased his winning Pure Gold ticket at Corner Market, 1142 North Chestnut Street in Wahoo. Scratching the ticket, he revealed matching numbers in a complete row with a corresponding prize of $100,000.

There were three $100,000 top prizes available in Pure Gold. Foster was the third person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming his prize on April 19, Foster told Nebraska Lottery officials that he decided to buy a Pure Gold ticket because it was designated as a Last Shot! game. “Usually I’ll buy the $20 tickets,” said Foster.  “When I saw the Last Shot! sticker on the Pure Gold game, I decided to give it a try. It paid off.”

Games are put into Last Shot! status when there is a limited supply of tickets remaining and one top prize left to win. Players with non-winning tickets from Last Shot! games can enter them online at nelottery.com for a chance to win $300 worth of Scratch tickets each month.

Pure Gold was a $10 Scratch game that offered players the chance to win $2.2 million in cash prizes from $10 to $100,000. The odds of winning the $100,000 top prize in Pure Gold were 1 in 102,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize were 1 in 3.52.
