$30,000 Mega Millions® with Megaplier® Prize for Kearney Woman

DyAnn Altwine February 15, 2013 – DyAnn Altwine of Kearney recently won $30,000 playing Mega Millions with Megaplier from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 11,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Tuesday, January 29 drawings. Among these winners was Altwine, who purchased her winning Mega Millions with Megaplier ticket at Kearney Liquors, 1107 2nd Avenue in Kearney. The ticket contained four of the five winning white ball numbers (8, 12, 27, 46, 47) and the Mega Ball® number (6) for a $10,000 prize.

Because Altwine added the $1 Megaplier option to her purchase, the $10,000 prize was multiplied by the 3X multiplier for $30,000.

While claiming her prize on February 6, Altwine told Nebraska Lottery officials that she was “totally surprised” to win the $30,000 prize. “I checked the numbers on the website, and I thought I only had three numbers and the Mega Ball number,” said Altwine. She plans to pay bills using her winnings.

Mega Millions is a multi-state jackpot game currently offered by 44 lotteries across the United States. The odds of winning $10,000 playing Mega Millions are 1 in 689,065. Adding the $1 Megaplier option, which does not affect the odds of winning, gives players a chance at multiplying their non-jackpot prizes two, three, or four times. The overall odds of winning any Mega Millions prize are 1 in 40.
