May 14, 2012 – Ronald Buettner of Cedar Rapids won $150,000 playing the $15 Scratch game Platinum Card 9X from the Nebraska Lottery.
Buettner purchased his winning Platinum Card 9X ticket at Cedar’s Rapid Stop, 615 South 2nd Street in Cedar Rapids. Scratching the ticket, he revealed three “MONEY BAG” symbols in Game 2 with a corresponding prize of $150,000.
There are three $150,000 top prizes available in Platinum Card 9X. Buettner is the first person to claim a top prize to date.
While claiming his prize on May 1, Buettner told Nebraska Lottery officials that he “couldn’t quite believe” that he had won the $150,000 top prize. He plans to pay bills and buy a car using his winnings.
Platinum Card 9X is a $15 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $3.2 million in cash prize from $15 to $150,000. The odds of winning the $150,000 top prize in Platinum Card 9X are 1 in 100,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 2.77.
