Grand Island Man Wins $1,000 Playing Palms

December 22, 2009 – Rod Halm of Grand Island won $1,000 playing the $2 Scratch game Palms from the Nebraska Lottery.

Halm purchased his winning Palms ticket at Pump & Pantry, 3507 East Bismark Road in Grand Island. Scratching the ticket, he revealed one winning “Palm Tree” symbol with a corresponding prize of $1,000.

There are three $1,000 prizes available in Palms. Halm is the second person to claim a $1,000 prize to date.

Palms is $2 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $276,620 in cash prizes from $2 to $10,000. The odds of winning $1,000 playing Palms are 1 in 80,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.75.
